Yes, it would be nice to see Planet Hollywood on the list of hotels, might be a little while before it's integrated into the system.

I hear you, my offers pretty much dried up too. Now that I have some trips planned, thought it was time to get myself back on the radar before it expires in March. I'm planning a trip in May , July, and December as well. I'm hoping I timed it well. It seems to take a few weeks before offers start popping up after some hardcore gambling sprees.

The guy next to me was joking after the third royal that I was dreaming, and I should be waking up in a few minutes really pissed off.

I got 7,000 tier points playing. So still have a little work to be done, but I'm pretty damn close. It was a fifty play $1 machine, so you can get there pretty much as fast as you want (if you are fearless enough to play $250 per pull). I'm not that fearless, so I started with $1,000 and playing 5 hands at a time. I want to say I only played a few hours.

I think it's been a good plan, you just need to set a limit and get ready to bail on it if the variance eats you up.

That is awesome!

Did you actually get there playing this game? How long did it take you.

I'm hoping for perfect timing this year... to be in town AFTER Planet Hollywood has been integrated into Total Rewards, but BEFORE they downgrade the $1 8/5 Bonus Poker machines. I know, it's a long shot...

Also my offers seem to have dried up again. I managed to book Flamingo for a week in April and nabbed the Rio for next Christmas. I'm glad I did - I can't see any COMP dates at all on the calendar now!

Update: I took my stab at renewing my Diamond status on the $1 9/6 JOB video poker at Binions in Hammond and hit not one, not two, but three separate spade royal flushes within 30 minutes time for a total of $12k. It was COMPLETELY SICK! Definitely my best game as I've only hit one before. I doubt that will ever happen again in this lifetime.

On another note, apparently the poker room there doesn't care about Diamond status, you need seven star to get bumped to the top of the list, contrary to what their mailer originally said.

When you go pro, and claire starts teaching in Vegas you will be able to be more relaxed about getting your hours in! That will be living the dream

I just received a mailer yesterday from Harrahs Horseshoe (East Chicago/Indiana). It states that they now give points for Poker. You get Platinum for 400 hours of poker, or Diamond for 1,000 hours. I think they calculate/rate it different than other games. Also, location may be a factor. 1,000 hours is what I would consider a full-time poker player. The sad part is that even if you give them the 1,000 hours of poker, you will probably not get comped rooms because your average daily will be so low.

I'm a poker player at heart, but I never give my Diamond card for poker games or tournaments because it actually hurts my offers in the long run. I do enjoy the benefits of diamond, especially when in Vegas. So far I've been pretty lucky getting it, but I know too that one of these years I'll have to throw in the towel if things don't go well.

However, additional benefits are that Diamond poker players now get preferred daily seating, and there is a diamond member free roll poker tournament. I wish I could have a separate card for Poker and a separate card for Video Poker as keeping them separate would be ideal.

I think 9/6 is still the way to go. Maybe take another stab at it when you're there in April. Good luck!
